London Week 3

When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford."
- Samuel Johnson

I know we say this a lot... but we LOVE London. Although we had pretty high expectations for our study abroad here, we could never have imagined it would be this amazing. We love the people, the scenery, our new friends, the fall, the red buses, the culture... we could go on all day, but we love every single detail. We keep thinking it can't get better than this, and every day it does. Although school is overwhelming and we never have time for sleep or homework, everything seems to work out perfectly. Here's what we've learned this week:

"Evans" is represented well in England

You can meet Liam, Harry, Louis, and Zayn at Primark. Best day ever. Our Once Direction obsession might be bordering creepy.

Going to Camden Market takes a toll on your bank account... and your waist line

Another treat you must get at Camden: Dutch Pancakes

Kinder Buenos, Daims, and Fizzy Strawberry Straws are the best candies. It is always appropriate to stock up with 20 candy bars.

London has amazing views

Gringotts Bank is actually the Australia House, sad day

Mamma Mia at Novello Theatre is a fun time! You wish you could just sing along at the top of your lungs and it's a major dance party at the end

You can accidentally meet the stars of the show... That awkward moment when a kind man asks if you want him to take a picture for your group before the show and you recognize him once he comes on stage as one of the leads. You feel like an idiot that he took your picture instead of being in it. We know from experience - this picture was taken by that man, Neil Roberts aka Harry Bright.

After the show with Richard Trinder aka Sam Carmichael

Waiting by the back stage door pays off. We got to meet Oliver Tilney aka Sky

Dover Castle looks like it comes straight out of a fairytale.

The old war tunnels at Dover would make for a good scary movie

Sometimes you just need to sit..

Every cathedral starts to look alike but that doesn't mean Canterbury isn't beautiful. Best group ever

You'll gain a great appreciation of Shakespeare after seeing Macbeth at the Globe Theatre. Next time bring blankets

The telephone boxes are pretty neat!

Hampton Court was rainy, but still beautiful

Everyone's favorite part of Hampton Court was taking a nap on the mattresses

Its not appropriate to smile?

Jedward is a big deal in the UK. We need to go look them up

Hunter boots are great

The greenhouse at Kew Gardens is a neat experience

The pipes in the greenhouse make a great butt warmer

We get excited about aquariums, especially when we find fish that eat sand through their gills

Fall in London is amazing! We have holiday cheer. October is the BEST!

Once is another cute musical. The musicians are extremely talented

Spending Saturday mornings at Camden is always a good idea. Three necessary treats: Brazilian Churro, Banana Man, and Dutch Pancakes

Your heart can be torn between Les Mis and Wicked. "Defying Gravity" and "For Good" will change your life.

Big Ben is big
